1. HOW DO I APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW

WINTER 2022 MODEL CALL?

There are two steps to apply:

• You must email your completed application to admin@fosterbeautyfashionshow.com with the subject line "FBFS WINTER 2022 Model Application".

• Along with your application, submit a recent comp card OR a headshot, full body photo, and a full body side/profile photo.

Incomplete applications will not be considered!

2. WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING MODEL APPLICATIONS?  

Entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 in order to secure an audition time.


3. WHAT REQUIREMENTS MUST A MODEL POSSESS TO BE CONSIDERED? 

• Gender: The Foster Beauty Fashion Show welcomes both males and females.

• Height & Weight: The Foster Beauty Fashion Show welcomes all heights, shapes and sizes to our casting. *Your size and height will be evaluated when you are considered by designers for booking their show.

• Age: Models must be 15 years of age or older. (Click Here for the kids/tweens application.)

 

Additionally:

​

• Eligible applicants who are under 18 years old must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to apply. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the casting to sign a waiver or model will not be permitted to audition.

• Selection is based on industry criteria including: runway walk, personality, professionalism, photogenic appeal, unique attributes, and overall “look”. 

AUDITIONS ATTIRE: (All black)

• Males:  Hard bottom shoes, black tank or tee, black or dark fitted jeans.

• Females: Close-toe or open-toe high heel (*no wedges or boots), fitted black tank or tee, black leggings or black jeans.

• Makeup: Minimal to none. *We need to see your natural face! Models who show up to the casting with excessive makeup, large eyelashes, colorful lipstick, etc., will not be considered.

• Hair: Hair must be in its natural state, pulled back away from the face. If you are wearing braids, weaves, or any other form of extensions during the casting and are booked for a show, your hair may be expected to be in that same style for the day of the event.

• Minors: MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN PRESENT. 

• All: If you have a portfolio, bring it. (*Not required)

• All: If you have a comp card bring it. (*Not required)

If you arrive to the casting without following the requirements listed above, you will not be considered.

                   

4. IF I AM SELECTED TO AUDITION, WHEN/HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED? 

If selected, applicants will be notified via email within one week of submitting their application. Due to the volume of applications we receive, please do not email us regarding the status of your application.

*Audition times are at the sole discretion of the Foster Beauty Fashion Show staff.

*There will be no alternative audition if you are unable to attend the model call.
*All FBFS correspondence is done via email. Be sure the contact information and email address on your application are correct otherwise you will not receive information from the Foster Beauty Fashion Show.

5. WHAT IS THE MODEL SELECTION PROCESS?  

Models will be selected by a panel of judges at the casting and scored on their overall presentation, high fashion runway walk, and additional criteria. The models that score the highest will be selected for the FBFS Winter 22 Model Lookbook.

The Model Lookbook will then be presented to all Designers, Stylists, and Boutiques. Each designer will hand select models from the Lookbook to walk for their runway show.

Note: Being selected for the Model Lookbook does not guarantee you a spot in the show. It allows you the opportunity to be seen and considered by each designer.

*Models will be notified in advance of which show(s) they have booked.

TIP: Mark your calendar in advance when dates are provided to ensure you are available. The Foster Beauty Fashion Show, designers, boutiques and/or sponsors can NOT work around your schedule.

6. IF SELECTED AS A FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW MODEL, WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT? 

All models are required to attend the casting, fitting and rehearsal, as well as week of the show events if selected for a photo-shoot or special event.
*The schedule for the rehearsal and show will be provided to each model in advance. 
 

7. WHERE WILL THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW FITTINGS AND REHEARSAL BE HELD? WHAT DATES AND WHAT TIMES? 

All events will take place in Chesapeake, Va. or surrounding areas within the Hampton Roads. Exact locations, dates, and times will be sent to models via email at a later date. Time-blocks are assigned by and at the sole discretion of the Foster Beauty Fashion Show.

8. ARE MODELS WHO ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW COMPENSATED?  

All models selected to participate in the FBFS will have access to emerging designers and stylists, be recognized on the FBFS website, receive social media promotions, special perks from our sponsors, and have access to fashion week photos and videos for their personal portfolio. 
 

9. ARE THERE ANY FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS TO PARTICIPATE AS A MODEL? 

There is no financial obligation to participate as a model in our show.
 

10. IF SELECTED, WILL THE MODEL HAVE TO PAY FOR ACCOMODATIONS TO/FROM THE EVENT? 

The FBFS provides models with meals the day of the show. All models are responsible for travel to/from the venue and lodging for rehearsals/fittings and the day of the event.

*Note: Generally the rehearsal and fittings take place at the same location on the same date.
 

11. ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES FOR BEING A MODEL AT THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW? 

All models selected to participate in the Foster Beauty Fashion Show runway show, special events, or photo-shoot will receive the following:

• Visibility to local and national fashion industry leaders, stylists, bloggers, and media

• Recognition on our online channels

• Social media promotion

• Additional photoshoot and media appearance opportunities (Our Fall 2021 & Spring 2022 models had the opportunity to participate in local magazine and commercial shoots for our sponsors!)

• Special perks and offers from our local sponsors and partners

• All models who are selected to walk in the Foster Beauty Fashion Show will be entered into the Rock the Runway Competition. More information here.

 

12. DO MODELS HAVE ACCESS TO PHOTOS FROM THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW?

Models will have access to all photos from the runway show upon completion of the event.

All participants registering with the Foster Beauty Fashion Show agree that all photos and videos are the property of Foster Beauty LLC, and may be used for the company's promotional and marketing efforts.
