1. HOW DO I APPLY & QUALIFY TO SHOWCASE AT THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW? 

  • Application Deadline for Winter 2022: 5:00 PM (EST) Friday, September 16th, 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS TO SHOWCASE AT THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW:
A Designer must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

  • Own a clothing boutique, or have been designing for a minimum of one year.

  • Previously studied or currently studying at a fashion program, and/or work under a recognizable designer.

  • Demonstrate experience with fabric and/or textiles and consistently produce quality garments.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Designer must be prepared to showcase a minimum of 15 pieces

  • Accessories (i.e. shoes, bags, hats) cannot be the sole focus of the collection

  • Collection must be cohesive but show individuality​


2. IS THERE A FINANCIAL OBLIGATION TO SHOWCASE A COLLECTION AT THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW?

  • The total cost to showcase a collection at the Foster Beauty Fashion Show is $300 (The showcasing fee covers items such as marketing, use of A/V equipment and technician, music mixing and more.)

 

If all requirements above are met and the applicant is selected, the designer is required to pay the showcase fees within 14 days of notice of acceptance to maintain their spot in the event. In addition, applicants will be responsible for designing/creating looks for the collection – shoes, accessories, or any special hair and makeup pieces used for the show. Designers are also responsible for travel to/from the show and fitting/rehearsal, transportation, and meals.

No payments will be accepted after the 14-day window and designer forfeits their slot in the show.

3. ARE SKETCHES AND GARMENT IMAGES REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION SUBMISSION?

Designers must submit a collection of sketches or images of 4-5 garments / pieces to be featured in the proposed collection for the Foster Beauty Fashion Show, to include:

  • One (1) full-length image per garment.

  • One (1) detail image per garment for a total of two images. For example, a texture, hardware, and/or other element that makes the garment special.

  • Images should be on a model or mannequin.


4. WHAT SEASON SHOULD MY COLLECTION FOCUS ON?
We recommend Designers and Retailers present a collection for the current season (Winter)


 
5. HOW MANY LOOKS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN MY COLLECTION PRESENTED AT
THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW?
Designer/Retail collections must consist of 15 or more complete looks to be shown on the runway.


 
6. IF SELECTED AS A DESIGNER, WHEN AND HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED?
All applicants will be notified by email if they have been selected by Saturday, Sept. 10th.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:

*Designers will be invited to attend the Model Casting taking place in September and have access to the Foster Beauty Fashion Show Model Look Book to make selections for their collection.


*We will work with you to craft your entire runway show: from hair and makeup looks, to music, lighting and more!
 
7. IF SELECTED AS A FASHION DESIGNER, WILL TRAVEL TO/FROM THE EVENT AND ACCOMMODATIONS BE PROVIDED?

Fashion Designers are responsible for the following:

  1. TRAVEL: Fashion Designers are responsible for their own travel to/from both the fitting/rehearsal and the fashion show.

  2. ACCOMMODATIONS: Fashion Designers are responsible for their own hotel accommodations for both the fitting/rehearsal and the fashion show.

 
8. WHAT TAKES PLACE AT THE FITTING/REHEARSAL AND WHY IS IT MANDATORY?
Fashion Designers will meet and fit models, discuss hair and makeup vision, music, express expectations, view a full run-through of their show and more. In order to maintain your spot as a designer in this show, you must attend.
 
9. IF SELECTED AS A FASHION DESIGNER, HOW WILL I CREATE MY RUNWAY SHOW (CHOOSE MODELS, MUSIC, HAIR/MAKEUP LOOKS, SHOES, ETC.)?
The Foster Beauty Fashion Show will produce each runway show in coordination with each designer. We will provide models, beauty team, and if needed, style direction. The runway, lighting, video, sound and show production are at the sole discretion of the Foster Beauty Fashion Show. Designers are responsible for their music (*approval needed), collection designs, shoes, accessories, and any approved special hair or makeup pieces.
 
10. CAN I USE MY OWN MODELS FOR THE RUNWAY SHOW?
Only models that have been cast and selected for the Foster Beauty Fashion Show may be used for a runway show. Designers can encourage their models to submit model applications through our website. Fashion Designers will have the opportunity to fit potential models the day of the rehearsal and fitting. Additional details will be provided via email communication regarding times and locations.
  
11. DO DESIGNERS HAVE ACCESS TO PHOTOS FROM THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW?

Designers can access photos upon completion of the event. All participants registering with the FBFS agree that all photos and video taken are the property of Foster Beauty LLC, and may be used for promotional and marketing efforts.

12. DO DESIGNERS RECEIVE TICKETS TO THE FOSTER BEAUTY FASHION SHOW?
Each Designer will be allowed (1) assistant backstage who may view their showcase. Additionally, Designers will be given a custom discount code that can be shared with friends and family.
